On the 5th June 2018, the Society for the Environment host their prestigious annual Awards and Lectures evening. If that wasn’t quite enough to tempt delegates, the Society is delighted to now confirm that they will be joined by an inspiring exhibition of Environmental Photographer of the Year winners from the last decade.
The annual Awards and Lectures on World Environment Day will play host to the presentation of the Environmental Professional of the Year 2018 as well as expert lectures and three Honorary Fellow awards.
Alongside the opportunity to celebrate a series of awards, network with environmental professionals and representatives from the Society’s Constituent Bodies, and learn from insightful lectures, you can now browse an array of inspirational and poignant environmental photographs from around the world. The display will consist of a selection of winning photographs from the 2017 competition and past years, coordinated by CIWEM, a Constituent Body of the Society.
Chair of the Society, Professor Will Pope HonFSE CEnv, said:
“Imagery brings stories to life and engages a wider audience. For many, they provoke emotion and convey the reality of the situation like words cannot. It is also fitting that we take this opportunity to bring these images to the event in memory and recognition of former Council member, Nick Reeves HonFSE CEnv, who before his untimely passing, was a great advocate of this theme.”
Will continued;
“For these reasons, we are delighted to have a display of environmental photographs of the very highest standard at our annual awards and lectures evening to further highlight environmental issues in a multitude of surroundings around the world.”
Registration for the SocEnv Awards and Lectures on World Environment Day is free for professionals registered as a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or Registered Environmental Technician (REnvTech), with a nominal fee for interested parties and aspiring registrants. You can register to attend at www.socenv.org.uk/event/WED2018.
