Each year the Association seeks to recognise a significant and positive contribution to the arboricultural industry or profession by the presentation of the Arboricultural Association Award to an individual.
The process for nominating a candidate2 to receive the award is as follows:
The panel will be composed of the Vice Chairman, a Vice President and the Chair of Professional Committee.
The overriding criterion to be considered when deliberating the relative merits of the nominations is ‘Service to Arboriculture’: the panel will consider nominees’ excellence or their advancement of practice, research, writing, teaching or other relevant service. It is the role of the award panel to consider the relative merits of the nominations and to determine the recipient of the award. If the quality of the nominations is unsatisfactory the panel is not obliged to make an award.
1 Nominations must be made by third parties; self-nomination will not be permitted.
2 Nominees need not be Arboricultural Association members.
