The AA requires all Technician, Professional and Fellow members to undertake a specified amount of CPD over three years as part of their ongoing commitment to their membership. Every year we review a percentage of those members and we are now approaching this time.
This year we would request that all Technician, Professional and Fellow members ensure that their online CPD log is up to date by 30th November 2021, so we can randomly sample after this date.
CPD submissions should be appropriate to the role in which you are employed and ideally cover a range of activity types and subjects. Please note that this year, as in 2020, we can make allowances due to the reduction in face to face events and training activities caused by COVID-19 countermeasures. We still need to see evidence of CPD, but it can be more informal, for example; increased webinar viewing, reading and self-led research etc. If you are falling short of your required hours don’t forget that there are over 50 hours of recorded webinars and podcasts that you can view or listen to by logging into our website.
Please see the list below for the number of hours each grade of membership is expected to complete.
- Technician – 30 hours over 3 years
- Professional – 40 hours over 3 years
- Fellow – 50 hours over 3 years
- Registered Consultants – 25 hours per year
If you are both a Fellow/Professional member and a Registered Consultant, you are expected to complete the requirement for the highest accreditation held i.e. Registered Consultant.
Important note for Chartered Environmentalists
Please note all Chartered Environmentalists must have their CPD reviewed annually, so if you are a CEnv it is doubly important you submit your record by the deadline. Failure to submit your CPD annually may result in us being unable to renew your CEnv registration for 2022 as this is a requirement set out by the society for the Environment.
You need only complete the hours required for your AA membership grade – there is no additional requirement for CEnvs.
