Call for papers

Crown and canopy management
– working with nature

Our 2019 Conference is based around the theme of tree crown and canopy management. This is a very broad subject area and touches on our daily working lives at every level in our profession.

We invite submission of papers on this central theme to explore one or more of the following:

Natural function

AA Members, partners, national and international colleagues are invited to submit papers and ideas under these themes, for presentation at the conference. Most presentations will last no longer than 30 minutes, but longer practical demonstrations and workshop sessions will also be welcomed. Research posters will also be accepted.

Proposals should be sent to events@trees.org.uk and include the following information:

  1. Name
  2. Job title and organisation (if relevant)
  3. Brief biography (no more than 100 words)
  4. Title of session
  5. Subject area
  6. Abstract – a summary of content of up to 300 words
  7. Proposed presentation type (e.g: Lecture theatre: Power point, video, audio only; Outside: Practical workshop, demonstration, tour, etc, Poster session)

The deadline for proposals is 31 December 2018. The AA’s conference steering group will assess the proposals and we will aim to respond by the end of January 2019.
