The Arboricultural Association has submitted a response to the England Tree Strategy (ETS) consultation document.
The response is in two parts – the answers to the consultation questionnaire and a briefing note which expands on some of the questions and addresses some of the key issues contained within the text of the consultation document. This response has been made available for download below.
When formally submitted, prior to the September 11th deadline, the Association will be sending a covering letter to Lord Goldsmith in which we will request that a final draft of the actual England Tree Strategy document be made available for review by arboricultural and forestry organisations prior to publication. We are currently being asked to comment on a document which we have not actually seen, and we do not believe that this is appropriate for a strategy of such significance.
The Association encourages all of its members and partners to participate in the consultation process in the hope that collectively we can work together to make this important initiative a success which we can all support and endorse.
