Course Objectives:

By the end of this course you will be able to:

• Understand what a healthy tree requires and factors that can disrupt normal function.
• Follow a repeatable, methodical approach to examining trees.
• Make a diagnosis based on your observations.
• Identify sources of further information/help.
• Understand how to provide management advice.
• Understand the need for biosecurity and implement good practice during the course of your work.

Course Content:

This one day classroom course will cover:

  • A healthy tree
  • Invasive species
  • Examining the tree
  • Making a diagnosis
  • Using a reference book
  • Example pest, diseases or disorders,
  • Management advice
  • Biosecurity

Printed materials provided: (posted at least one week prior to the course):

• AA's: Tree Pests and Diseases - An Arborists' Field Guide
• AA's: Diagnosis of Ill Health in Trees


Certificate:

Arboricultural Association attendance certificate
