Course Objectives:

Delegates will be encouraged to think of tree planting as an art form and an intellectual exercise which involves strategic thinking and planning as well specific craft skills for successful delivery. These will be discussed independently but with a focus on the interrelationship between the two.

Case studies will be used to illustrate specific topics creating opportunities for discussion.

At the end of the day, delegates will have a wider and more informed grasp of the subject and a realization that tree planting is not just a ‘cut and paste’ exercise but a topic of many variables worthy of thought and discussion.


Course Content:

The course will include: 

  • Discussion of best practice guidance
  • The gap between theory and the practice on the ground
  • How to think of tree planting as an art form and its intellectual exercise
  • The craft skills needed for successful tree planting 
  • The strategic thinking and planning around tree planting.
