Course Objectives:

By the end of this course you will be able to:

• Understand what a healthy tree requires and factors that can disrupt normal function.
• Follow a repeatable, methodical approach to examining trees.
• Make a diagnosis based on your observations.
• Identify sources of further information/help.
• Understand how to provide management advice.
• Understand the need for biosecurity and implement good practice during the course of your work.

Course Content:

This newly revised course is delivered online (via Zoom) in two morning sessions.

Session 1 covers:

  • A healthy tree
  • Invasive species
  • Examining the tree
  • Making a diagnosis
  • Using a reference book
Session 2 covers:
  • Example pest, diseases or disorders,
  • Management advice
  • Biosecurity

The instructor will set two tasks to be completed between the two sessions. Please ensure you allow sufficient time to complete this (1 hour).
