This full-time role includes project management of new and established large and small scale tree surveys and consultancy to provide a professional consultancy services including:
- BS5387:2012 Tree Surveys, AIA, AMS, Site Supervision and Monitoring etc.
- Tree health and condition inspections.
- Tree safety surveys.
- VALID Tree Risk-Benefit Assessment and Management Survey.
- TPO/CA advice and council liaison.
- Woodland management reports.
- Site supervision and monitoring.
- Aerial tree inspections using rope and harness/MEWP/Drone inspections.
The main responsibilities include:
- Collate professional, concise, and industry appropriate written reports and correspondence using current software such as GIS and other specific mapping tree management software and templates as approved by the Company.
- Provide clear, honest, and verified advice to commercial and domestic clients.
- To work closely and communicate with other professionals internally and externally in order to support the completion of surveys and contractual works.
- To use internal decay detection equipment, practices and to interpret results in order to evidence and support Company written reports; and to, when needed, explain in depth the results to clients to ensure client understanding.
- Provide a mentorship role to Arboricultural Consultant(s) and assist with queries or questions to ensure their career development is on track and be on hand for annual appraisals or periodic progress meetings.
- Conduct demonstrations and contribute to talks around to industry subjects where required for Company profile-raising events, and for Company and staff development.
- To collate quotations for clients if costs have been requested as part of a survey contract.
Job Requirements:
Experience: Have a thorough and proven working knowledge of the planning system/ legislation as well as with BS 5837: 2012 Tree Surveys and the preparation of Arboricultural Impact Assessments / bespoke Arboricultural Method Statements.
- A valid driving license is an essential requirement for this role to mobilise between site visits and working sites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise between a variety of levels including management, crew members, domestic clients, and commercial clients.
- People management skills are required to enable cooperation with both clients and colleagues.
- To have good IT skills, ideally with experience of Office 365.
- Be organised with excellent time management skills.
- A professional and friendly, ‘can do’ attitude to any task.
