Course Objectives:

The presentations will focus on work site efficiency, health & safety culture, site planning, use of appropriate rigging and climbing systems including SRT, and how to implement tree-focused care. It will be open to both members and non-members. Confirmed speakers / presenters: Tony Lane - A M Lane Ltd, Hi-Line training, DMM Wales, Oliver Bennett - Objective Tree Consultancy

Course Content:

Hi-line Training: Introduction to SRT - a demonstration of equipment, techniques and rescue.

Olly Bennett, Objective Tree Consultancy: Olly shares knowledge gained from his many years experience as an arborist, a local authority tree officer and as an independent consultant to talk about the Visual Tree Assessment (VTA) method, writing job specs which benefit trees and meet BS3998:2010, interactions between fungi and trees and the management of trees with Ash Dieback.

Tony Lane, A M Lane Ltd: Tony is a widely recognised authority on health and safety in arboriculture, bringing experience of consultancy, accident investigation and expert witness work. Tony will host a workshop on maximising work site efficency whilst minimising risk, the importance of detailed work planning and promoting a positive health & safety culture in the workplace.

Alex Smith, DMM Wales: Alex is bringing various products from the DMM Wales range including the new Kinisi harness.
