3ATC Climbing Competition will return in 2018

The UK Open Arboricultural Association Arborists’ Tree Challenge (3ATC) returned to test the mettle of climbers over 3 different skill categories. Novice, Expert and Premier climbers who battled it out in one of the UK's most popular climbing championships.

In 2016 over 70 competitors battled it out over the 2 days, and it’s their skill and daring which make the challenge a perennial crowd favourite at The ARB Show.

Places were limited due to the number of climbers we can manage each day so advance booking is always recommended for this popular event. Our judges are there to ensure your safety during this event which is scored as much on safe climbing as it is on speed and task control.

New kit check and booking rules have been activated as of the 2017 climbing competitions; anyone not following the updated requirement and completing their gear check form before the event will be penalised on their final score, and those booking on the day of the events will not receive a goody bag or t-shirt.

To find out the full rules and requirements for the 2017 competitions visit the website www.3atc.com

Climbing registration will include free entry to the ARB Show and Westonbirt Arboretum for the day of your climb.

On booking you will receive a confirmation email which will include a link for you to download a Kit Check form - please complete this and bring this with you on the day- and a climb time booking form, which you must return to us at 3atc@trees.org.uk as soon as possible following your booking. Time slots are allocated on a first come first served basis failure to return your climb time booking form may result in you being allocated a random time and you may not receive your 3ATC t-shirt.
