Firstly, I would like to thank all those who attended the event at Barcham Trees in May. This was a great success and was organised by Emma Hall at headquarters prior to a committee being in place. I very much appreciate being voted in as Chair at the meeting and hope I can live up to that trust.
The first meeting of the new committee was held in Saffron Walden in June, where nine of us had a very productive few hours discussing aims and ideas for the branch. The East Anglian Branch takes in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire and at the moment we are a bit ‘south’ biased, so if any members from Norfolk want to become involved, please let me know. My email address appears at the end of this article.
Several ideas for events were discussed, but I’d like to take this opportunity to ask East Anglia members to please contact me, Vice Chair Bob Widd, or any member of the committee, with suggestions for what they would like to see run in our area. This could be anything from ideas for whole events to suggestions for workshops or something shorter or more specialist that could be added to an event.
We hope to have an event ready for the autumn, so watch this space!
