Salary: Competitive – dependent on relevant experience
Express interest by: 10th May 2021
Do you want to become part of a growing movement to plant, protect and promote the UK’s urban forest? Then Trees for Cities would like to speak to you.
We are seeking two crucial roles to join our dynamic urban forest team and to support the planning and delivery of our expanding tree planting programme. With a base in London, our projects cover urban streets, parks, open spaces, estates and schools. We plan, design and deliver community projects, including woodlands, street tree planting, orchards and greening projects across towns and cities in the UK. We do this by engaging with local people and delivering through our community networks and volunteers.
Trees for Cities has a vacancy at senior manager level for a respected professional who is at the top of their career and who can lead a team as our in-house expert. They will use their professionalism, practical experience and skills to develop our strategy into projects on-the-ground. This person will ideally have over 15 years experience.
We also have need for a supporting role that would suit an ambitious professional, a recent graduate with two years practical experience, or someone with about 5 years relevant experience, who is keen to take on responsibility for rolling out the delivery of our projects. There will be opportunities for the right person to progress their career in this role.
Successful candidates will serve two specific remits; one with focus on developing, creating and planting new community woodlands, to be led by a person primarily with a strong silviculture / forestry background, with skills in volunteer and community engagement, contractor procurement and supply chains. The second role is focussed on delivery of urban tree planting, requiring strengths in arboriculture and leadership on operations relating to planning and delivering tree planting in streets, parks, open spaces and estates.
The two roles will be mutually supportive with crossover and collaboration expected. The senior role will be offered to the person with most relevant experience in either strand.
If you would like to express interest in being considered for either role, we would love to hear from you! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with subject heading as “Urban Forest Team” and include a one pager CV with a short (no more than one A4 page), statement, telling us why you think you might be the right person for the role/s described.
DEADLINE: 10th May 2021
We welcome expressions of interest from all levels of the industry and agreed salaries will be commensurate with level of experience in line with our banding salary scale. More information upon request.
