We are looking for a key player to liaise with the Cormac operational teams to ensure works activities are appropriately instructed and completed in a timely manner that accords with statute, Cornwall Council’s procedures and policies and will be the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, clients and managers.
The role will oversee the monitoring of scheduled inspection activities, management, review and monitoring of defect response times, the preparation of performance reports for managers and the investigation of any issues arising from these reports. Initially the role will play an important part in Cornwall's response to Ash Die Back ensuring that defects are recorded and remedial works are carried out.
We are looking for you to bring:
- You will be an organised individual with an eye for detail.
- You will have demonstrable experience in ICT systems including the Microsoft Office suite of programs and applications.
- Experience of analysing data and producing management reports, preferably in a highways, environmental or arboriculture context, alongside background professional experience in these areas.
- You will have the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders will be key whilst at all times managing and prioritising workloads in a pressurised environment.
Cormac provides highway and environmental design and maintenance services, construction of major highway schemes, surfacing and facilities management services including property maintenance, cleaning and caretaking services. The services Cormac provide in relation to Highways and Environment assets are informed by Cornwall Council strategic objectives in respect of climate change, environmental growth and transport infrastructure. Cormac network teams work to ensure that all Council owned assets are inspected routinely, and that appropriate action is initiated to ensure asset defects are recorded and remedial works are carried out. There is a current emphasis and demand for more focussed management and inspection of trees across the Council’s portfolio of assets in accordance with the Council’s Tree Risk Management Framework.
