Registered consultant events

Each year Arboricultural Association Registered Consultants attend a Standards and Development Day when consultants have the opportunity to discuss the operation and management of the scheme, benefit from targeted professional development and network.  The 2011 SDD was 12 May and included:

• BS5837: an introduction to the review of BS5837:2005 with discussion and dialogue with the Chair of the revision panel - Richard Nicholson
• Tree support systems: an in depth analysis of modern stabilisation techniques, methodology, specification, steel cables -v- dynamic systems, bolting and tethering, all in the context of current research - Dr Tom Smiley
• Business Meeting: RC issues including a proposed consultants' leaflet, assessors' panel, maintenance of standards and the use of the AA logo - chaired by AA Chair Peter Holloway.
