![]() Portsmouth & Basingstoke Climber / Trainee Climber Gristwood and Toms Limited We are an Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor, with additional accreditations from ISO9001, Achilles, Exor and Constructionline. We are seeking to employ a climber / trainee climber to work from both our Portsmouth and Basingstoke depots. We provide contracting services mainly to Local Authorities and Government Agencies. A full driving licence is essential, with a pre-1997 or HGV being preferable. You will be required to work from both depots and travel between them as required. It is desirable that you would hold NPTC units CS30, 31, 38 and 39. A competitive salary and training are offered, with provision to participate in our bonus scheme. 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays are offered and all PPE and equipment is provided. Associate Arboricultural Consultant
The role will appeal to someone who has a degree or an arboricultural qualification to the level of the RFS Professional Diploma; has at least 3 years ‘hands-on’ tree surgery experience, and with at least 5 years experience in an arboricultural advisory position in either local government or the private sector. The role will extend to appearances at planning hearings and inquiries, and will require excellent written and verbal communication skills, an ability to evaluate and solve arboricultural problems, full conversance with current tree protection legislation and procedure and an ability to work to deadlines with close attention to detail. Relevant I.T. skills are required; CAD experience will be an advantage. Arboricultural Surveyor/Technician £23k-28k pa package, negotiable
The role will appeal to someone with at least 5 years practical experience in tree surgery, who now wishes to broaden their career. He or she will have good written and verbal communication skills, be I.T. literate and have a practical approach. A degree, an arboricultural qualification, and/or CAD experience would be distinct advantages but are not obligatory. A clean driving licence and use of a car are required for both posts.
