19th May – Scottish Branch Spring Break Excursion
15th May 2012
The AA's Scottish Branch invites you to join them for their Spring Break Excursion on Saturday 19th May at Murthly Castle.
Murthly Castle is part of a working estate located in Perthshire. It forms part of an estate that extends to some 12,000 acres with extensive formal grounds surrounding the castle. The formal grounds were laid out from the 1660s onwards.
The castle itself is still a private family home, which has been inhabited by the same family since 1615. It boasts a stunning approach via a two-mile long drive that leads you through it's beautiful parkland. The parkland contains some of the tallest and most impressive trees that can be found in Scotland.
Thomas Steuart Fothringham, 14th Stewart Laird of Murthly, will share with us for one of Scotland’s most intact, original, designed landscapes; home to several Trobi champions.
